Training on focus in taichi practice – feeling the air

limin Post in Taichi Practice

Mind focus is very critical in Taichi practice.

Feeling the air is one way to train the focusing ability of the mind. There are so many things in the air including all little molecules of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and hydrogen, and of course, dusts.

In order to feel them, one has to pay close attention, to feel carefully, and consistently throughout the form. The sensitive parts are normally the palms. So start with the palms feeling, then if you slow down, the body can feel too.

Once the mind is able to focus on feeling the air, you can focus in different ways you prefer it to.
